C.F. Martin & Company is a U.S. guitar manufacturer established in 1833 by Christian Frederick Martin. Martin is highly regarded for its steel-string guitars and is a leading mass-manufacturer of flattop acoustics. Martin instruments can cost thousands of dollars and vintage instruments often cost six figures.
The company has been run by the Martin family throughout its history. The current chairman and CEO, C.F. 'Chris' Martin IV, is the great-great-great-grandson of the founder. The firm was the first to introduce many of the characteristic features of the modern flattop, steel-strung acoustic guitar. Influential innovations include the Dreadnought body style and scalloped bracing. Some time in the 1970s, Martin bought Levin guitars and around 200 D-18's were apparently built in Sweden; they are stamped LD-18.
The 000RS1 is one of Martin's best values, offering solid sapele, electronics and a hard case for a very reasonable price.
With its distinctive solid sapele (a close relative of mahogany) top, back, and sides, the DRS1 gives you bright, clear trebles, and warm midrange. The DRS1's punchy lows (more like a D18 than a D28) make it an excellent choice for miked recording when you've got thicker tracks to work with.
The affordable Martin DX1AE acoustic-electric guitar packs a ton of Martin value into an easy-playing dreadnought. Featurning a solid spruce top and modified low oval neck, it's a very comfortable, great sounding guitar.
Dreadnought size, 14 fret, Sapele top, HPL back and sides, Hand rubbed finish
This is a great looking and playing Martin with Hawaiian Koa HPL top, sides and back. With Fishman Sonitone USB pickup and a hard case, this is an incredible value.
Modified 0 size, Sitka Spruce top, HPL back and sides, 1 11/16" nut width, hand rubbed finish on top
While the Little Martin is our smallest guitar, it is very big on tone, quality and versatility. The LX1 model features a solid Sitka spruce top and mahogany high-pressure laminate HPL back, sides and top. It’s ideal for travel, student practice or for just playing around the house or campfire.
